Cefazolin for Injection, USP is a semi-synthetic cephalosporin for parenteral administration. It is the sodium salt of 3-{[(5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)thio]-methyl}-8-oxo-7-[2-(1H-tetrazol-1-yl)acetamido]-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid. Structural Formula: Cefazolin for Injection, USP is a sterile white or off-white powder or crystalline powder. The sodium contect is 48 mg (2 mEq sodium ion) per 1 gram of cefazolin. cefazolin-structure
