Midazolam in 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection is a benzodiazepine available as a sterile, preservative-free, nonpyrogenic solution of midazolam and sodium chloride in water for injection for intravenous use. Each single-dose bag of Midazolam in 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection contains either 50 mg/50 mL (1mg/mL) or 100 mg/100 mL (1 mg/mL) of midazolam and 9 mg/mL of sodium chloride in water for injection. Midazolam in 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection may contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment. The pH is approximately 2.5-3.5. Midazolam is a white or yellowish powder, practically insoluble in water, Chemically, midazolam is 8-chloro-6-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-methyl-4 H -imidazo[1,5-a][1,4]-benzodiazepine.
