Bumetanide is a loop diuretic available as 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 2 mg tablets for oral administration; each tablet also contains the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, magnesium stearate, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch and talc. Chemically, bumetanide is 3-(butylamino)-4-phenoxy-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid.
