Pemetrexed for Injection, USP is a folate analog metabolic inhibitor. Pemetrexed disodium, has the chemical name L-glutamic acid, N -[4-[2-(2-amino-4,7-dihydro-4-oxo-1 H -pyrrolo[2,3- d ]pyrimidin-5-yl)ethyl]benzoyl]-, disodium salt. The structural formula is as follows: C 20 H 19 N 5 Na 2 O 6 M.W. 471.37 Pemetrexed for Injection, USP is a sterile white-to-light yellow or green-yellow lyophilized powder in single-dose vials to be reconstituted for intravenous infusion. Each 100 mg, 500 mg, 750 mg or 1 g vial of Pemetrexed for Injection, USP contains pemetrexed disodium equivalent to 100 mg pemetrexed and 106 mg mannitol, 500 mg pemetrexed and 500 mg mannitol, 750 mg pemetrexed and 750 mg mannitol or 1 g pemetrexed and 1 g mannitol, respectively.
