Injection
Fluorouracil injection, USP, a nucleoside metabolic inhibitor, is a colorless to yellow aqueous, sterile, nonpyrogenic injectable solution for intravenous administration. Each mL contains 50 mg fluorouracil in water for injection, USP. The pH is adjusted to approximately 9.2 with sodium hydroxide. Chemically, fluorouracil, a fluorinated pyrimidine, is 5-fluoro-2,4 (1 H ,3 H )-pyrimidinedione. Its structural formula is: C 4 H 3 FN 2 O 2 M.W. 130.08 fluor-struc-01.jpg
