Each gram of estradiol vaginal cream USP, 0.01% contains estradiol, USP hemihydrate equivalent to 0.1 mg estradiol in a nonliquefying base containing edetate disodium, hypromellose, methylparaben, mono- and di-glycerides, propylene glycol, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, tert -butylhydroquinone and white ceresin wax. Estradiol is chemically described as Estra-1,3,5(10)-triene-3,17β-diol-hemihydrate. It has an empirical formula of C 18 H 24 O 2 • ½ H 2 O and molecular weight of 281.39.
