Fluphenazine hydrochloride USP is a trifluoromethyl phenothiazine derivative intended for the management of schizophrenia. Fluphenazine hydrochloride is described chemically as 4-[3-[2-(Trifluoromethyl) phenothiazin-10-yl]propyl]-1-piperazineethanol dihydrochloride and its molecular formula is C 22 H 26 F 3 N 3 OS.2HCl. The molecular structure is shown below: Fluphenazine Hydrochloride Tablets, USP contain 1 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg fluphenazine hydrochloride USP per tablet. Inactive ingredients: Aluminum Lake of the colorant FD&C yellow #6 for 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg only, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, polydextrose, triacetin, sodium alginate, lecithin (soy), and titanium dioxide.
