Hydromorphone hydrochloride, a hydrogenated ketone of morphine, is an opioid agonist. Hydromorphone hydrochloride is a white or almost white crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol (96%), and practically insoluble in methylene chloride.
