Bumetanide, USP is a loop diuretic available as 0.5 mg (light green), 1 mg (yellow) and 2 mg (light pink) tablets for oral administration; each tablet also contains lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and talc, with the following dye systems: 0.5 mg—D&C Yellow No. 10 Lake, FD&C Blue No. 1 Lake and FD&C Red No. 40 Lake; 1 mg—D&C Yellow No. 10 Lake; 2 mg— D&C Yellow No. 10 Lake and FD&C Red No. 40 Lake. Chemically, bumetanide is 3-(butylamino)-4-phenoxy-5-sulfamoylbenzoic acid.
