It is freely soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. Potassium citrate extended-release tablets, USP intended for oral administration, each contains 5 mEq (540 mg), 10 mEq (1,080 mg) or 15 mEq (1,620 mg) of potassium citrate, USP as monohydrate.
