RenThyroid (Thyroid Tablets, USP) RenThyroid (Thyroid Tablets, USP) has not been approved by FDA as a new drug. for oral use is a desiccated thyroid extract that is derived from porcine thyroid glands. RenThyroid (Thyroid Tablets, USP) contains both tetraiodothyronine sodium (T4 levothyroxine) and triiodothyronine sodium (T3 liothyronine). T3 liothyronine is approximately four times as potent as T4 levothyroxine on a microgram for microgram basis. They provide 38 mcg levothyroxine (T4) and 9 mcg liothyronine (T3) for each 60 mg of the labeled content of thyroid. The inactive ingredients are calcium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, mannitol and microcrystalline cellulose. Contains no ingredient made from a gluten containing grain (wheat, barley, rye).
