Atorvastatin is an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. The drug substance used in atorvastatin calcium tablets, USP is atorvastatin calcium in the form of propylene glycol solvate. The chemical name for atorvastatin calcium propylene glycol solvate is calcium bis((3R,5R)-7-[3-(anilinocarbonyl)-5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-isopropyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-1-yl]-3,5-dihydroxyheptanoate) propylene glycol solvate. The empirical formula of atorvastatin calcium propylene glycol solvate is C 66 H 68 CaF 2 N 4 O 10 * C 3 H 8 O 2 and its molecular weight is 1231.46 g/mol. Its structural formula is: Atorvastatin calcium is a white to off-white solid that is insoluble in aqueous solutions of pH 4 and below. Atorvastatin calcium is slightly soluble in distilled water, pH 7.4 phosphate buffer, and acetonitrile; slightly soluble in ethanol; and freely soluble in methanol. The active ingredient in omeprazole delayed-release capsules is a substituted benzimidazole, 5-methoxy-2-[[(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl) methyl] sulfinyl]-1 H -benzimidazole, a compound that inhibits gastric acid secretion. Its empirical formula is C 17 H 19 N 3 O 3 S, with a molecular weight of 345.42 g/mol. The structural formula is: Omeprazole is a white to off-white crystalline powder that melts with decomposition at about 155°C. It is a weak base, freely soluble in ethanol and methanol, and slightly soluble in acetone and isopropanol and very slightly soluble in water. The stability of omeprazole is a function of pH; it is rapidly degraded in acid media, but has acceptable stability under alkaline conditions. Omeprazole Delayed-Release Capsules meet USP Dissolution Test 2. Omeprazole is supplied as delayed-release capsules for oral administration. Its molecular formula is C 17 H 14 F 3 N 3 O 2 S, and it has the following chemical structure: Celecoxib is a white to off-white powder with a pKa of 11.1 (sulfonamide moiety). Celecoxib is hydrophobic (log P is >3) and is soluble in methanol, acetone, ethanol, DMSO, ethyl acetate and methylene chloride. Triamterene and hydrochlorothiazide combines triamterene, a potassium-conserving diuretic, with the natriuretic agent, hydrochlorothiazide. Each Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide 37.5 mg/25 mg Tablet, USP contains 37.5 mg of Triamterene, USP and 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide, USP. Each Triamterene and Hydrochlorothiazide 75 mg/50 mg Tablet, USP contains 75 mg of Triamterene, USP and 50 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide, USP. Triamterene and hydrochlorothiazide tablets for oral administration contains the following inactive ingredients: lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and sodium starch glycolate. In addition, the 37.5 mg/25 mg tablets contain D&C Yellow No.10 Aluminum Lake and FD&C Blue No.1 Aluminum Lake. Triamterene is 2,4,7-triamino-6-phenylpteridine. Clopidogrel tablets, USP is a thienopyridine class inhibitor of P2Y 12 ADP platelet receptors. Chemically it is methyl (+)-( S )-α-(2-chlorophenyl)-6,7-dihydrothieno[3,2-c]pyridine-5(4 H )-acetate sulfate (1:1). The molecular formula of clopidogrel bisulfate is C 16 H 16 ClNO 2 S•H 2 SO 4 and its molecular weight is 419.9. The structural formula is as follows: Clopidogrel bisulfate, USP is a white to off-white powder. It is practically insoluble in water at neutral pH but freely soluble at pH 1. It also dissolves freely in methanol, dissolves sparingly in methylene chloride, and is practically insoluble in ethyl ether. It has a specific optical rotation of about +56°. Clopidogrel tablets, USP 75 mg for oral administration are provided as pink, round, biconvex, film coated tablets, engraved “APO” on one side, “CL” over “75” on the other side. Butorphanol tartrate nasal spray, USP is an aqueous solution of butorphanol tartrate for administration as a metered spray to the nasal mucosa. Each bottle of butorphanol tartrate nasal spray, USP contains 2.5 mL of a 10 mg/mL solution of butorphanol tartrate with sodium chloride, citric acid, and benzethonium chloride in purified water with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid added to adjust the pH to 5. The pump reservoir must be fully primed [see PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS ] prior to initial use. After initial priming each metered spray delivers an average of 1 mg of butorphanol tartrate and the 2.5 mL bottle will deliver an average of 14 to 15 doses of butorphanol tartrate nasal spray, USP. If not used for 48 hours or longer, the unit must be reprimed [see PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS ] . With intermittent use requiring repriming before each dose, the 2.5 mL bottle will deliver an average of 8 to 10 doses of butorphanol tartrate nasal spray, USP depending on how much repriming is necessary.
