Trazodone hydrochloride tablets for oral administration contain trazodone hydrochloride, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and 5HT2 receptor antagonist. It is a white odorless crystalline powder which is freely soluble in water. The structural formula is represented as follows: [strucure] Molecular Formula: C19H22ClN5O · HCl Molecular Weight: 408.33 Each tablet, for oral administration, contains 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg or 300 mg of trazodone hydrochloride, USP. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized maize starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, and sodium starch glycolate.
