Indications and Usage

Uses

Temporarily relieves runny nose, sneezing, and itchy and watery eyes due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies. Temporarily relieves nasal congestion due to the common cold. Temporarily controls cough due to minor bronchial irritation occurring with the common cold.

Dosage and Administration

Directions

  • Adults and Children 12 years and over:Take 1 tablet every 6-8 hours. Do not take more than 4 tablets in a 24-hour period.
  • Children 6 to 12 years of age:Take 1/2 tablet every 6-8 hours. Do not take more than 2 tablets in a 24-hour period.
  • Children under 6 years: Consult a physician.

Stop use and ask a doctor if:

  • nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occurs
  • symptoms do not improve within 7 days or occur with a fever
  • cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache

When using this product:

  • do not exceed recommended dose
  • excitability may occur, especially in children
  • drowsiness may occur
  • alcohol, sedatives, and tranquilizers may increase drowsiness
  • avoid alcoholic drinks
  • be careful when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking sedatives or tranquilizers.

  • heart disease
  • high blood pressure
  • thyroid disease
  • diabetes
  • trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland
  • a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis
  • glaucoma
  • persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma
  • chronic bronchitis, or emphysema
  • excessive phlegm (mucus)

Do not useif you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
